Schubert's Anthems:Words by Words Translation
History of HP renewal Sample of the file
Franz Schubert(Jan.31 1797〜Nov.191828)
The page of the literal translation for Schubert's masses
It is needless to say that it is how important thing to sing
when each word of the words is fully understood on the occasion of singing a
vocal music text in music.
But there are not many sites or books which
explain the word for word translation of the text.
This page was made by this viewpoint so that it could answer such needs
at all. Though it is still only on the amateur stage, I want to make this
a better page by everyone's support. I am happy if I could have an advice
to me about a point to modify.
Though there are many fundamentally common words among various masses, each mass has its slightly different contents, structure and backgrounds. On the top of these contents,I tryed to explain its proper nouns and the special words and phrases used in masses as well.
You can understand more easily the words if you study the text, listening the actual performance of CDs
In
case of printing, you are advised to download the excel file first and make an
adjustments of its lay-out of the text.

In spite of having attracted a circle of artistic friends who did much
to encourage and sustain him, he led a precarious and often penniless existence.
Despite his dogged determination, he failed to establish himself as an
operatic composer and he was equally unsuccessful in achieving any of the
prestigious conductorships for which he applied several times. He was a
prolific composer, in his short lifetime writing over 600 lieder (German
art songs) including 3 song cycles, 9 symphonies, 15 string quartets, 21
piano sonatas, several operas and operettas, many choral works, 6 masses,
and numerous other works. On his premature death by typhoid in 1828 his
epitaph aptly read: "The Art of Music here entombs a rich possession
but even finer hopes."Franz Schubert". |
